EP『Live at The Windmill』をリリースした。
The Great Escape、Green Man、End of The Road、Pitchfork Festival Paris、SXSW、Outbreakでのインストア・ライヴや傑出したライヴに続き、ユニヴァーシティは2025年11月1日にアメリカ・サンディエゴで開催されるデフトーンズの年次フェスティヴァル、Dia De Los Deftonesに出演することを発表した。
Grace Morrison 『Saltwater Country』- New Album Out Now!!
If nerditude had a formal name, it would be Grace Morrison. She’s a little bit of everything—pianist, accordion player, Renaissance Faire performer, cranberry grower, reader of historical nonfiction, coffee devotee (she sells her own coffee blend), and an unapologetic expert on all things New England. And somehow, all these quirks weave seamlessly into the fabric of her music, making her one of the most unique and endearing songwriters around.
Born and raised on the shores of Cape Cod, Grace Morrison has trademarked a sound she calls Saltwater Country. “I was always too pop for folk and too folk for country. Eventually, I started peeling back the layers of my music to find out what truly made it mine.
At the heart of it all was my deep, undeniable connection to the Cape Cod coastline—it’s in my blood, in my voice, in every lyric I write. My music carries the storytelling of country, the twang, but also the raw, unshakable spirit of a Swamp Yankee. That’s Saltwater Country.”
Proudly unconventional, she’s never held what some would call a "real job", She says “it’s always been music and how lucky am I that music has given me this wild, unpredictable journey through the human experience. I wouldn’t trade that for anything.”
Her career started when she was in high school playing at coffee shops, where she sang for tips—one of which came from none other than actor James Spader. “I still have the $20 he left me,” she laughs.
Not long after, she hit the road with Rock 4 Xmas, sharing the stage with legends like Eddie Money, Joey Molland (Badfinger), Carmine Appice (Vanilla Fudge, writer of Da Ya Think I’m Sexy), and Greg Douglass (Steve Miller Band, co-writer of Jungle Love).
“I was 17, on a tour bus with rock icons. You can’t ask for a better crash course in rock ‘n’ roll than that. I could tell you some stories,” she says with a knowing grin. “It was Spinal Tap in real life—literally, someone from that movie was on the tour. But for me, the biggest thing was realizing that this life—touring, performing—was possible. All I’ve wanted since then was to get back on that bus.”
In those early years, she struggled to define her own sound. “My dad was convinced I should be a blues singer—like he hadn’t even heard my voice,” she jokes. “It took time, but I finally figured out who I am as an artist. And that’s Saltwater Country.”
One of the defining moments in her journey came when she collaborated with hit songwriter Lori McKenna. “I was eight months pregnant when Lori invited me to write with her. We wrote "Just Loving You", and it was the most personal thing I had ever written.
The way it connected with audiences—it was something I had never experienced before. I learned that the more personal and specific my songs are, the more they seem to resonate. You’ve got to write what you know.” Saltwater Country, the album, is a testament to that.
Saltwater Country takes the old adages of “3 chords and the truth” and “don’t bore us, get to the chorus”, wraps them up with a 90’s pop bow, and leaves the listener with a sound that is at once new and familiar.
Produced by Jon Evans (Tori Amos, Sarah McLachlan), the album ranges from the gritty, swampy "Poor Man’s Daughter"—a raw reflection on growing up with nothing—to the fun, twang filled "Beer in a Teacup", an anthem about embracing imperfections and letting self doubt roll off your shoulders. The leading single is an ode to her grandma who sipped beer out of a Victorian teacup with a saucer and didn't give a damn about what people thought about her.
It’s the sound of an artist who’s found her confidence, embraced her quirks, and learned that sometimes, when life gets messy, you just pour your beer in a teacup and move on.
ミスティーンの音楽は、Barefoot in the ParkやNew Pop Picks、Apple MusicのNew in Alternativeなど、Spotifyの人気プレイリストに追加されている。
彼女の音楽は、Spotifyの「Barefoot in the Park」や「New Pop Picks」、Apple Musicの「New in Alternative」、OnestoWatch #NowWatchingのような強力なサードパーティのプレイリストなどのエディトリアルで紹介されている。
Log cabin-born but Jersey-bred, Mistine is a rising Pop / Rock artist combining the rhythm and warmth of classic rock with her own brand of angsty pop sincerity. Mistine’s music is a perfect blend of modern and vintage, drawing inspiration from classics like Aerosmith, Taylor Swift, Avril Lavigne to the 1975 and Maggie Rogers.
Before she was Mistine, Christine Meisenhelter was just another third-grade kid watching Piglet’s Big Movie. At least, she was, until Carly Simon showed up on screen playing guitar and singing along. Suddenly, Meisenhelter knew what she wanted to do, and it’s been music ever since.
In the years following this early spark, she attended USC’s Thornton School of Music, toured with Conan Gray for over two years, and honed her voice as an artist and musician as Mistine.
Mistine’s career as a musician blossomed and she developed a strong resume as both an artist, songwriter, and session/touring musician.
She’s toured with Conan Gray, aespa, BiigPiig, Meg Smith, WiztheMC, Zeph, McKenna Grace, Haiden Henderson, INJI, and Sierra Spirit to name a few.
Mistine devotes her life not only to music, but also to sustainability and the environment. After obtaining a Masters in Science for Sustainable Business Leadership, Christine has served as the Sustainability On-Site Coordinator at the Las Vegas Sphere for the Grateful Dead residency and worked on the Billie Eilish Hit Me Hard and Soft Tour.
Mistine ties her two passions together to bring audiences music that speaks to the human connection to one another, but also has underlying innuendos of human destruction and nature.
Her music has been featured in editorial placements including Spotify’s Barefoot in the Park and New Pop Picks, Apple Music’s New in Alternative, and strong third party playlists like OnestoWatch #NowWatching. She’s been featured in press outlets including LADYGUNN, Earmilk, Bass Magazine, C-Heads, Atwood Magazine, Luna Collective, TRASH Mag, amongst others.
Mistine's new album "i guess this is where we're at" is a 11 track collection of indie pop meets alternative songs that tackle the topic of sustainability and environmentalism.
She shares, "I am constantly thinking about our environment. I really tired to incorporate ways to tell the story of what our world is going through in the climate crisis without explicitly saying it in the song - I began exploring thinking about our planet as a friend or relationship and how each member would feel though this distraction and climate change - how we’re trying to preserve what we have left - as if I were trying to salvage a relationship with a loved one."
The enthralling album features grunge soaked guitars, experimental vocal lines and 80's inspired synths and is Mistine's most creative release to date.
When it comes down to it, Mistine wants to make music that makes people think, learn, feel good, and ultimately, drive down a coast line with their windows down. Her unassuming charm is what makes her work just so welcoming; “I want my fans to feel like they’re my best friends.”

Sarah Banker is a heartfelt singer/songwriter based in the mountains of Colorado. Drawing inspiration from her childhood experiences performing in theatrical productions, Sarah found her true voice through songwriting after learning guitar, following her degree in Cultural Anthropology.
After only three months of playing, she had her first guitar performance. Instantly hooked, 18 months later, she sold most of her belongings and set out on the road with just a backpack and her guitar.
Her journey of exploration and curiosity has taken her from the jungles of Hawaii to the forests of the Pacific Northwest, down to the deserts of southern Utah, and up to the peaks of Colorado—each place influencing her musical releases and touching others along the way.
Her new EP, Into the Heart, is a collection of authentic and transformative songs centered around resilience. The vibrant four-song folk-pop EP was recorded and produced by Jeff Franca (Thievery Corporation) in his studio, at 9,000' feet elevation in the Indian Peaks Wilderness in Colorado. The result is a musical journey that is touching, sonically playful, and organic.
Sarah Banker's ability to capture the complexity of emotions in simple yet expressive lyrics is a consistent strength across her music. Her songs feel both universal and deeply personal, inviting listeners to reflect, heal, and embrace what’s to come.
Ultimately, her musical intention is to be a source of light and love through sound. She also hopes her music inspires others to be the best version of themselves, sharing, "You are the ONE, the one who has the potential to make the changes that lead to a fulfilling life experience. You have everything you need within you to take charge of your life."
「Before You I Just Forget」、既発シングル「It's Amazing to Be Young」、「Starburster」とデヴィッド・リンチの "In Heaven (Lady in the Radiator Song) "のマッシュアップだ。
「Before You I Just Forget」
The WAEVE(グラハム・コクソンとローズ・エリナー・ドーガルによるプロジェクト)が3曲入りEP「Eternal」をTransgressiveよりリリースしました。

Queer singer/songwriter Heather May's two albums, WHAT THEY HID FROM ME (alternative) and KISS & TELL (pop), are of interest.
The artist isn’t just writing songs—she’s writing revolutions. A genre-defying artist-activist, she fuses the grit of alternative rock, the infectious hooks of indie pop, and the storytelling depth of folk to craft anthems for the outsiders, the survivors, and the seekers of radical joy. Her music is an unflinching mirror reflecting the raw realities of mental health, queer liberation, survivor empowerment, and the fight for justice.
"What I Know Now "は、同意と自責の念を解きほぐす痛切なサバイバー賛歌であり、"All's Not Lost "は鬱との日々の戦いをフォーク・ロックのカタルシスに変える。
『WHAT THEY HID FROM ME』が清算だとすれば、『kiss & tell』は反逆である。
「WHAT THEY HID FROM ME』と『kiss & tell』は単なるアルバムではない。
Heather Mae isn’t just writing songs—she’s writing revolutions.
Mae has released "WHAT THEY HID FROM ME" (alternative) and "kiss & tell" (pop), a groundbreaking double album project that is both a reckoning and a reclamation. These records dive into the pain of unlearning, the fire of self-discovery, and the freedom of living unapologetically. Produced entirely by women and nonbinary music makers in Nashville, they are more than music—they are a movement.
Raw, raucous, and deeply introspective, "WHAT THEY HID FROM ME" is Mae’s most unfiltered work yet. Produced by ZDAN and featuring an all-female band—including Grammy winner Allison Russell and the powerhouse duo SistaStrings—the album explores religious trauma, survival, and resilience. "What I Know Now" is a gut-wrenching survivor anthem that unpacks consent and self-blame, while "All’s Not Lost" transforms the daily battle with depression into a folk-rock catharsis. "Black Lives Do" is a searing call for racial justice, written from the perspective of someone whose partner is Black. With an unrelenting blend of Americana, alt-rock, and raw storytelling, WHAT THEY HID FROM ME is a reckoning with the past and a rallying cry for those reclaiming their truth.
If "WHAT THEY HID FROM ME" is the reckoning, "kiss & tell" is the rebellion. Co-produced by Mae and Nashville’s pop mastermind Lollies (Timbaland, Hayley Williams), the album is a celebration of queer joy and unapologetic love. "take it slow" drips with R&B-infused sensuality featuring a rap verse from ATL’s Yani B Fly, while "shook" and "ode to joy" explode with hands-in-the-air queer euphoria. The breakout single, "Kissing Girls," released in June 2024, is both a bi-anthem and a love letter to LGBTQ+ folks who grew up in spaces where their queerness wasn’t an option.
But Heather Mae isn’t just making music—she’s making space. Both albums were created entirely by women and nonbinary music makers, from the guitarists to the engineers to the producers and photographers. Every note, every lyric, every choice is an act of defiance in an industry that continues to sideline marginalized voices. "WHAT THEY HID FROM ME" and "kiss & tell" aren’t just albums; they are declarations. Mae’s music is a fist in the air, a love letter to the misfits, and a battle cry for those who refuse to be erased. And with these two records, she’s making one thing clear: no matter what policies are passed or how hard they try to silence us—we are here, we are loud, and we are not going anywhere.
Award-winning singer, songwriter, and social justice warrior Crys Matthews will release new album, Reclamation.
The music video for the preceding single “Walking Up The Dead,” which combines classic gospel and country/folk music with the banjo in the performance, and a sample of the album are available.
"This album is both sonically and ideologically the fullest representation of who I am as an artist and as a human," she says. A preacher's kid, a Black woman, a Butch lesbian, and a proud Southerner who sings social justice music right alongside 'traditional' Country and Americana music, Matthews is reclaiming not just of the space Black artists have been denied in Country and Americana music, not just of the space LGBTQ people have been denied in communities of faith, not just of the autonomy women have been denied over their own bodies, she is reclaiming the South that raised her.
Crys has received acclaim from the likes of Billboard and NPR whose Ann Powers called her "a rising folk music star". Crys Matthews has also received the award for Folk Alliance's Song of the Year.
A troubadour of truth, Nashville resident Crys Matthews is among the brightest stars of the new generation of social justice music-makers. An award-winning, prolific lyricist and composer, Matthews blends Country, Americana, Folk, Blues, and Bluegrass into a bold, complex performance steeped in traditional melodies punctuated by honest, original lyrics. She is made for these times.
Of Matthews, ASCAP VP & Creative Director Eric Philbrook says, “By wrapping honest emotions around her socially conscious messages and dynamically delivering them with a warm heart and a strong voice, she lifts our spirits just when we need it most in these troubled times.” Justin Hiltner of Bluegrass Situation adds, her gift is a "reminder of what beauty can occur when we bridge those divides." In her own words, Matthews says her mission is: "to amplify the voices of the unheard, to shed light on the unseen, and to be a steadfast reminder that hope and love are the truest pathways to equity and justice." Her new album is an embodiment of and a testament to that mission.
When Matthews attended a panel at Folk Alliance International in February of 2024, she heard a Scottish Folk artist inquire as to how many record labels pursue what the artist referred to as "music from my tradition," four words that intrigued Matthews. "I loved the idea of that. It seems like the best way to talk about music: what is your tradition, who are your people, what is the fabric of you?"
A daughter of the South by way of Nashville now and North Carolina forever, and the self-proclaimed poster child of intersectionality, Matthews is boldly answering those questions on her new album aptly titled Reclamation.
Recorded in Nashville, TN at Sound Emporium Studios, Reclamation was produced by Levi Lowry (co-writer of Zac Brown Band's hit song Colder Weather). The project features her partner on and off stage Heather Mae, her friends and fellow singer-songwriters Kyshona, Melody Walker, and Chris Housman, and some of the best musicians in Music City like Megan Coleman, Megan Elizabeth McCormick, Ellen Angelico, Ryan Madora, Jen Gunderman, and Michael Majett.

本EPは、新曲 「Water's Edge」と既発曲 「Sunset on the Boat」「Repeating」「Ocean in the Palm 」の水や海にインスパイアされた4曲からなる楽曲集。
Philadelphia-based singer-songwriter BATTLEFLAGG (Battle Flag) has released a new EP, Solastalgia. (It was released in early January, but a press release arrived yesterday from his international management.)
He shares, "Solastalgia is defined by philosopher Glenn Albrecht in his
2005 article on the subject as “the homesickness you have when you are
still at home,” where you may find your home environment changing in
distressing ways. It is a lived evanescence of what you have always
known, like standing in one place as the life, memories and places fade
away. Unlike nostalgia, solastalgia is distressing and is often
attributed to environmental or other changes completely out of one's
control."
BATTLEFLAGG has found success in other musical projects
opening for the Ramones, Third Eye Blind, Cake and Train. He has
received acclaim from the likes of Atwood Magazine, Northern
Transmissions, and more.
The project of Philadelphia-based singer/songwriter, Jeff Hartwig, Battleflagg was conceived in 2020 after demoing a new set of songs and feeling the need to regain some agency in an age of personal, social and political unrest. Battleflagg is not so much a band but a collective of like-minded musicians and visual artists, formed during the pandemic to combat an age of creeping cynicism. With a sound that blends traditional rock instrumentation with ambient synths, drum loops and samples, Hartwig’s Battleflagg songs seek to straddle the Heartland/Americana/Indie rock divides, leaning into direct, heart-on-sleeve lyrics and arena-size, sing-along choruses.
Hartwig’s musical backstory is prolific. His first pro gig was opening for the Ramones as the lead singer of King Flux, made up of former members of punk rock innovators the Plasmatics, a show for which he was castigated by Johnny Ramone for jumping on Johnny's stage box during the opening set. After a year of powering through the downtown scene at CBGBs and other Lower East Side clubs, King Flux dissolved -- Richie Stotts, the band's founder, went on to grad school -- and Hartwig found himself opening as a solo act for bands on the Blues/Americana circuit, including The Holmes Brothers, Clarence Gatemouth Brown and Commander Cody.
Looking for a change of sound and scenery, the singer-songwriter moved to San Francisco in the late 90s, where he immediately fell into a thriving Indie/Americana/Punk scene. Fronting an Americana(ish) band called the Dangs, he established a strong following playing with then-rising bands Third Eye Blind, Cake and Train, who the Dangs opened for at the Fillmore Auditorium on the release of Train’s debut album. The Dangs also shared stages with many Americana/Indie acts while on tour, including Dave Alvin, The Connells, and Dash Rip Rock.
As the new Millenium approached, Hartwig inked a deal with About Records -- a UMG-distributed imprint formed by veteran music executive George Daly and producer/engineer Chuck Plotkin (Bruce Springsteen) -- as a solo artist, spending a year writing and developing songs for his first release. When About reorganized in the wake of the bursting dotcom bubble, however, Hartwig lost the momentum and was ready to make a change, this time to law school.
Over the next decade, Hartwig pursued a career in corporate law, all the while continuing to write songs and playing the occasional live show. In 2019, with numerous demos in hand and a new desire to be a part of the democratization of music distribution, Hartwig contacted Brit-Award winning producer, Chris Potter (Richard Ashcroft, Rolling Stones), who agreed to produce Battleflagg's first EP, The Blood Meridians, which was released by Hartwig's own label, Resolute Juke, in November 2022. The Blood Meridians was recorded in London and the south of England and would feature talent from both the UK and US, including the guitar work of Rob Marshall (Humanist) and Steve Wyremann (Richard Ashcroft), the drumming of Steve Sidelnyk (Seal), and the soul-searing vocals of Miko Marks.
After the release of The Blood Meridians, Hartwig again set the production process in motion. Upon hearing Sharon Van Etten's hit single, "Mistakes", and loving the sonic vibe, he reached out to its producer, Daniel Knowles (SVE, Cigarettes After Sex), to see if Mr. Knowles would have interest in producing his upcoming EP. Knowles listened to the demos and readily agreed to be a part of the project. After almost 18 months of recording and mixing, the new EP, Solastalgia, is out now. Co-produced by Knowles and Battleflagg, the breadth of musical collaborators on Solastalgia even exceeds that of The Blood Meridians and includes members of The War on Drugs, Ethel Cain, Japanese Breakfast and Elvis Costello.
When asked what he hopes people would take away from listening to his new music, Hartwig says "When listening to these songs, I want the listener to understand, and feel the power of, the simple snapshots described within, and how such moments are common to many. Hopefully, in understanding that the experiences in the songs are common to all of us, particularly in the face of massive change, the listener will find a deeper connection to the people and places around them."
